This site is dedicated to the hobby of astronomy. Most of the pictures you see here have been taken with my old 10” or new 12" Meade LX200 telescope using a StarlightXpress MXC7 camera set up in a home built observatory on Union Hill in Washington, USA. The observatory has made a huge difference to my enjoyment of the hobby. The telescope is always ready to go, and I can be observing within minutes of going outside.

I can’t stress enough the value that a good observatory brings; no more lugging about heavy equipment, or long start up and tear down times, and best of all, careful set ups such as polar alignments need only be done once. I also like being able to have a place to keep my stuff near to hand. I  recommend an observatory to anybody who regularly enjoys the night sky with a telescope.
